Green Phoenix

Today I was channel surfing and happen to stumble upon the local Phoenix channel, Channel 11. I noticed the Phoenix Mayor, Phil Gordon, was speaking about an ambitious 17-point plan to make Phoenix a Green City. The most ambitious part of the plan is to make the city the first carbon-neutral city in the US!

With the amont of sunny days in Phoenix it just makes sense to take advantage of solar energy.

Last weekend was the Build-it-Green Expo in Phoenix. Did anyone go or have any comments to post on the blog?

You can read the AZ Central article . I haven't found more information just yet that is a comprehensive outline as to what each point in the plan is.

If anyone finds more current information, please post.

Thanks,
Jamie

Trees!!!!!! Yikes, this is the desert. Trees need water and create a lot of humidity which in turn creates a need for lower air-conditioner settings. Send him back to the mid west where there are trees, rain, mold, etc.

Solar energy is super but let the people be able to afford the solar power plant privately and get us off the grid.

Another Tempe Town Lake.... more humidity, mosquitos and what's wrong with NATURE handeling it's own water runoff. Quit building in river beds. What about all the wildlife that depends on these resources.

I think man gets stupider as time goes on.
